We’re dedicated to your excellent oral health and vibrant smile

You might be surprised to learn that general dentistry isn’t just about fixing teeth when they are broken. Sure, we can help you with that chipped tooth or that pesky cavity, but our focus is on the health and wellness of your teeth, gums, and mouth.

We believe that good oral health is essential to overall health, so we’re here to help in any way we can. Whether it’s been six months or six years since you last saw a dentist, we’re happy you’re here.

So let’s take a look and see what we can do to help you achieve optimum oral health. It all starts with a healthy smile!

We offer a range of general dentistry services and treatment options for patients of all ages from our handy East Brisbane Studio.

Why is your Dental Health so Important?

Dental problems not only cause pain and discomfort, and they can be expensive to treat. No one has been glad they waited to see the dentist when they are in pain. They all wish they had seen us sooner.

Fortunately, many dental problems can be prevented with early intervention. General dentistry includes a variety of preventive treatments that can help to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

For example, regular dental check-ups help to identify problems early and professional cleanings remove tartar and plaque that leads to tooth decay and gum disease.

Everyone’s smile is different, and that’s what makes them special. Whether your teeth are straight or crooked, large or small, it’s important to take care of them so you can keep smiling for years to come.

It’s the Dental Care You Deserve.

Our General Dentistry Services

Treating dental problems in their earliest stages can often be simpler and less expensive than waiting until they become severe.

We offer general dental treatments and care to maintain your healthy smile.

Dental Cleans and Check-Ups

Regular dental cleanings and check-ups can help to remove plaque and tartar build-up, preventing tooth decay and gum disease. In addition, these appointments give your dentist a chance to identify subtle changes in your oral health that could indicate a more serious problem. For example, a small cavity can be treated before it turns into a full-blown toothache.

Dental Fillings

Fillings are one of the most common dental procedures to repair teeth damaged by decay and prevent further damage. We offer composite resin and tooth-coloured fillings.

Emergency Dental

Most people will experience a dental emergency at some point in their lives. Whether it’s a toothache, a lost filling, or a chipped tooth, dental emergencies can be both painful and daunting. We offer emergency assessments and procedures for those unexpected dental emergencies.

Children’s Dental

Our littlest patients are also our most precious. Bringing your children to the dentist early can create lifetime good oral hygiene habits for healthy smiles. We offer specific services to create a friendly, warm, and welcoming environment for kids. Read more about our Children’s Dental Services.

Custom-Fitted Mouthguards and Splints

If you’re looking for a way to help protect your precious teeth, a mouthguard or an occlusal splint may be the right option. Smileologie makes custom-fitted mouthguards designed to offer the best protection and comfort.

What to Expect from Your First General Dental Check Up?

We understand that visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience. That’s why we endeavour to make every dental check-up comfortable, relaxed and, above all, friendly. Here’s what you can expect during your first visit with us.

Step 1: Assessment

Firstly, we make sure you feel welcome and comfortable. Then, one of our friendly general dentists – Dr George or Dr Summer, will have a chat with you about your goals and expectations. We’ll take some imaging (using the latest in Xray, OPG and digital scanning technology) to assess what is happening.

Step 2: Regular Check Up, Clean and Polish

We’ll then perform a regular check-up, clean and polish. During this check-up, we’re on the lookout for any signs of oral diseases or decay. We also perform an oral cancer screening and assess your general dental hygiene across a broad range of factors – from tooth colour to any bacteria or plaque build-up.

Step 3: Make a Plan

Once we’ve done our assessment and check-up, we will take you through what we have found and talk through your scans. We’ll go through any areas for concern and work with you to develop a personalised dental treatment plan that meets your individual needs.

We’ll put your needs and your comfort first and treat you with respect and compassion throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dentists generally recommend that you visit them every six months for preventive care. This includes cleaning and check-up, as well as evaluating your oral health. By catching small problems early on, dentists can help to prevent them from becoming bigger – and more expensive – to treat. If you have specific dental concerns (like gum disease or cavities), your dentist may recommend more frequent visits.

Regular brushing and flossing help you to avoid many of the common oral health concerns like cavities, infection, or bacteria build-up. Having regular dental cleanings and check-ups can help you maintain good oral health.

Dental issues can often be painful and costly to treat, but early intervention can help to prevent them from becoming more serious. General dentistry involves regular check-ups and cleanings, which can help to identify problems early on. Treating these problems in their earliest stages is simpler and less expensive than waiting until they become more severe.

One common sign of unhealthy teeth is an increase in the amount of bacteria on or around your teeth. This can present as pain, swelling and sensitivity and lead to bad breath, bleeding gums, oral cavities, and other dental problems. Bad breath, or halitosis, can be a sign that there is an infection or another problem with your teeth.  Regular check-ups with your dentist will help prevent these very common issues from becoming severe cases.
